Couple of people seem to be infected with W32.Sobig.F@mm virus worm, I have received a bit more than 15 mails with the worm though my Norton Antivirus 2003 was able to block it off at the gate and remove the same. If you are infected, the removal tool can be found from Symantec website. Please make it a habit to download the latest virus definitions for your Antivirus and check for the same regularly. Their mail subjects were like “need help”, “why is the live preview not working”, “can I send my FLA“, everything related to flash. I am still receiving many mails at the time of writing this thread.

    Same with me. You do not need to be infected with SoBig for the virus to send emails with your email id...

    That is one of the disadvantages of an email id that has already been harvested...

    In this case, though, it would be difficult to avoid...

    Keep in mind; although the email might say it's coming from X person it might not be. I've got alot of bounced emails from servers saying that I had sent a viris &c... well, I hadn't.

    yeah, once sobig infects a computer and that computer has both you and me in it's outlook address book , the sobig smtp client will most likely send out mails to you, with me as sender, or vice versa. this does not mean the infected pc has to be yours or mine, it may be anyones.
