60th year of India’s Independence

There were many incidents, revolutions that erupted before the First War of Independence in 1857. However, that particular movement in 1857, which also goes by the term “Indian Mutiny” or the “Sepoy Mutiny”, really ignited the Indian independence movement which eventually got its Independence on 15th August, 1947 from the British and foreign rules. The movement involved many political and social organizations and armed and unarmed struggle. Many political ideas also added to the movement.

    As an aside, let me point out that every year, there is confusion about which # Independence Day it is? Since the 1st Independence day was celebrated at t=0, people keep confusing. So, for the record, we were celebrating the 60th Independence Day, but the completion of 59 years of Independence. (Unlike a baby who celebrate the 1st birthday when she/he is 1 year old).
