Just because there was that hub-bub about the free MS "streaming" service (which is actually progressive download)... that doesn't mean silverlight is incapable of doing streaming. I'm not clear--so I'm not saying you're wrong... but I think there may be an option to do true streaming. Regarding the main point of the article here... yeah, I agree Adobe can do a lot to waste people's time. Hopefully they concentrate on making a more competitive product that people will be willing to pay for instead of simply devising ways of locking people into it. "Its going to be war with silverlight applications" Not much of a war means that Silverlight doesn't stream it does progessive download. You at least have th option with Flash. This is not good news.
