Thanks for the interesting article. I am a lay person, not a developer, but I did my best to understand this article. I'm concerned about security on my Mac Powerbook G4 running 10.5.8 if I install an app (Living Language Flash Forward CD) that by default will install Adobe AIR along with the app. Help! Is this going to be a security risk? Should I do anything special to make the installed app (if I install it) more secure, such as turn off the internet connection while using the program (which might affect the program's functionality (not sure yet). Should I avoid this app altogether? Please advise, would much appreciate your reaction.

I have an swf file that is saved in the app-storage directory, and it's compiled with "allow network access", and it loads an xml file from a webserver.

When I load this file into an swfloader in my air app, it throws up the "this file is trying to connect" notification box.

Even if I add the path in the security settings, it refuses to work.

Is there any way to let it communicate and d/l the xml file?
