Microsoft Congratulates Firefox 2.0 Release

Well, the FTP link was seen everywhere and almost everybody in the little-ahead – techno-sphere were already playing with the Release Version of Firefox 2.0 from Mozilla even before the official announcement was made.

Some good points –

  • I don’t really open more than about 10 tabs at max and thus the individual close button is a boon.
  • I love the realtime spell check.
  • The seamless integration of Feeds is another kick-ass feature. You can customize it to your choice of application to handle the Feeds. For instance, I’ve defaulted it to Newsgator Online which syncs with NetNewsWire for the Mac and FeedDemon for Windows.

  • Almost all bugs on PositionIsEverything is fixed
  • Other bugs other than PositionIsEverything are also fixed
  • They claim to have extended their existing implementation to comply with W3C Specifications

Let me try if I my site can be of any help for this person who have commented on this Photo while it was still with my Gallery setup. I took it for just those comments where people write to get back to them but I think he is very authentic as he have taken the trouble to find my email and mail me now. All the comments from the Gallery installation was lost because of a stupid mistake on my part. Referring back to my post about the Movie Amu, he have emailed me again. I’ll reproduce the mail (slightly edited to preserve his mail ID, Telephone Number to myself). Please help him if possible to find his friend.

During early 2005, I noticed that Brajeshwar v5.1 was bluntly copied without any reverse links or appreciation. The site even claimed it to be their original creation. Well, I wasn’t angry but flattered. However, I was a bit annoyed too which let to the decision that every of my themes, designs where ever possible, I’ll make them opensource or free for people to use them. This will make it obvious that you don’t need to copy or claim that it is yours. Why don’t you just use it freely.

Media Temple Grid ServerMy site is was hosted with MediaTemple and I’ve been happy so far. Well the story is funny as I went off and on coupla times in the past but then I decided to stick with them. They’re perhaps one of the most professional Hosting Provider I’ve ever interacted. I saw Techcrunch’s article – Media Temple Crushes Shared Hosting and I decided to check out their (gs) Grid Server. Or how to un-merge your Flickr ID from your Yahoo ID?

One fine evening, I saw that I could no longer find the usual Flickr login but was somehow made to look like I had to sign in through Yahoo and reluctantly I sign in, thus merging my Flickr ID with the Yahoo ID. Well, then sometime later, I could see the Flickr login again and really wished to get back to the default Flickr Sign in. There was no automatic way to do it, no FAQ explaining the same.

Enjoy Full Screen Video with the new Full Screen mode in Flash Player 9

With the release of the new updates for Windows and Mac, besides fixing a bunch of bugs, Flash Player 9 will support Full Screen Mode on the web straight out of the browser. Adobe labs has the full details for you complete with Publish Template for Flash, Flex Builder and Sample Application.

Although full screen mode can be used for any type of Flash application, Flash video applications were the primary use case Adobe focused on in this initial implementation. For this reason, there are a number of security restrictions to full screen mode which may limit its usefulness with some fully interactive Flash applications or games. Adobe plans to address these limitations in future versions of the Flash Player as they continue to develop this feature.
