As an example of the complexity of this project, the engineers ported the C++ version of Quake 1 engine into Flash Player and it worked perfectly and performed well. It is an extreme case but showcased the potential of this project.
An attack scenario -- A bank website hosts marketing graphics in the form of a vulnerable Flash applet. Attackers who trick a customer into clicking on a malicious link are able to execute the SWF file and inject malicious code variables that cause the customer's authentication cookies or login credentials to be sent to the attacker.
Adobe Flash Player is an advanced client runtime for delivering powerful and consistent user experiences across browsers, operating systems and mobile devices.
GetFlashPlayer.org is a small endeavor to push the latest version of the Flash player to users through the community. I am hoping to to push this forward so that the community can drive it to make installation of the latest Flash Player as easy as possible.
