Mein Kampf

Mein KampfWhile spending some time at the book-store before the movie Alexander starts, I thought of buying some books. I have seen Mein Kampf before but never thought of buying it, may be because of the history that I learnt as a kid, where Hitler was the evil geniuse of his time. But then a book is never bad if you can read it with a fair judgement in your mind. Mein Kampf gives an insight into Adolf Hitler, his political ideas, his beliefs, his motivations and his struggle to consolidate Germany into one great nation.

The book have two volumes (A Retrospect and The National Socialist Movement); the first volume was written in 1924 when Hitler was serving a sentence of detention for thirteen months in the Fortress of Landsberg am Lech, following the verdict of the Munich People’s Court of that time, the second volume was written when he was released from the prison. Adolf Hitler is believed to be highly influenced by two people, Dr. Leopold Potsch, who taught him German Political History and Dr. Jorg Lanz Van Liebenfels, a defrocked monk who founded the Temple of the New Order.

  1. I am from india. I have had oral accounts from my grand mother & some of her friends (who are no more) that in the early 1900's Germans took some valuable literary works of ancient India. They were very particular in saying Germans (they could have said "some white people", but they said Germans). I strongly feel that Dr.Liebenfels (Hitler's Racist Master) made evil interpretations about Indian concepts.

    This is because the:

    1. Swastik is an indian religious symbol.

    2. The word aryan has its roots in a Sanskrit word "Aarjavam", meaning steadfastness. The word aryan simply means "one who is steadfast". It does not denote a race or a group of people. Dr.Liebenfels made wrong interpretations & thereby created a racist monster. The sad thing is even in India modern history books take Hitler's opinion that Aryan is a race while in fact it is not (it is used as a tool by politicians to divide people, who incidentally dictate history books' publishing).

Please bring this fact to the world's notice.
